Miner Wear started trading in April 2014
Prior to that it needed an identity.
Living in Ashington, Northumberland owner Graham Murdie.
Wanted to capture the areas Mining heritage as well as remembering
His Late Granda John Gillespie.
John was a proud Coal Miner and serve all of his working life
"Doon tha Pit".
When Graham's granda passed away he wanted to keep his memory alive.
So he formed Miner Wear.
Graham's vision was to create a Sports and Leisure Wear company.
That manufactured all of its garments in house using only UK manufactured items.
After two years of oursoucing its production to a Factory based in Cheshire.
Graham decided the time was right to bring the company under one roof, His roof.
in June 2016 thats what he did. Moving into Miner Wears current premises in Pegswood Industrial Estate, Northumberland.
The factory proudly sits on the former site of Pegswood Colliery.
This was purposely done as it ties in with the Company name and the area's heritage.
Bringing production in house transformed the company overnight.
This allowed Miner Wear to realise its true potential within the custom Sportswear market place.
Not only did it mean Miner Wear could offer customers more of a choice
But it also meant it could lower its prices across the range without compromising on the quality. In fact the quality improved two fold.
Miner Wear is a family run business that benefits from decades of expertise within the textile industry. The sewing department alone has over 100 years of experience between them.
Each family member understands the high quality standards that Miner Wear sets and continually meets its targets.
Miner Wear is an honest and transparent family run business.
And it always goes the extra distance to offer their customers outstanding customer service.
